three of my most favorite quilt and sham sets from pottery barn are on sale (
and fearfully won't be around for much longer). my number one favorite is, above, the
jillian patchwork quilt and sham. the vacationy color scheme makes me swoon and it totally accomplishes that pleasant cacaphony of shapes and patterns that i love so much for bedding. mixed with the assortment of polka dotted and solid sheets and pillows shown, it's the picture of comfort and gentle vibrancy. i think i'm talking myself into buying it as i write these words.

i've also always admired the
red feather quilt and sham set, above, because it feels like the coziest of guest rooms to settle into, particularly in the winter. sadly, only the shams are left for sale, but they would look good with a vast array of other bedding choices like
this and
this. the loveliest part of quilts, and i'm beginning to think bedding in general, is the mix-and-matchability of it all, and it's actually rather liberating, as you don't have to choose only one bedding pattern to love.

the
botanical organic quilt and sham in this dreamy porcelain blue is like the bedding equivalent of a spa, don't you think? it just looks ready for a nap -- you can see how soft it is; the gentle puckering of the fabric (
organic cotton) is perfection. again, sadly only the pillowcases remain (
on clearance!), but the pattern itself comes in both
red and
natural-colored, not-on-sale versions as well and every piece of those ensembles are available.
