happy weekend!

i hope you're as relieved as i am that the weekend is finally here. mitchell and i have a few different things planned. tomorrow, we'll go to the gym and then have an eggs and turkey bacon breakfast i'm in the mood to make for us. then we'll head to brooklyn to explore a neighborhood we'd like to live. and sunday, we'll get together with my brother and his girlfriend and my sister and future brother-in-law for charades and a piping hot pot of this chili. in between, we'll have our saturday night movie night and play with our neighbors' brand new wheaten terrier puppy.

i also hope you've been finding the honey gift files helpful, and don't forget to scroll way down for picks from last year too. if you're shopping online, be sure to take advantage of free shipping day which is today only!

you have to check out i want to be her, an awesome new blog by andrea linett, former creative director of lucky magazine. in simple sketches, photos and captions, the best looking ladies from the streets of new york are documented, totally nailing that feeling we all have when we see someone who just looks so witheringly cool and perfectly put together (in a witheringly not-meaning-to-be-put-together way).

if i were having a holiday party this year, i'd be tempted to get these glasses from pier 1. aren't they intensely festive? if you're up to your eyeballs in barware, consider these tapers in the same design.

if you're looking for a book to cuddle up with, go for freedom by jonathan franzen. it's the perfect book to get me used to a kindle, because i'm so engrossed in the story and masterful writing that i don't even miss turning pages.

i hope you enjoy the calm before the frenzied holiday week. if there's no calm built into this weekend for you, forge a path for it, even if you have to wake up extra early to get it.
